Who We Are

Cornerstone Church of God is a vibrant community of believers, passionately dedicated to understanding and implementing the teachings of the Bible. Recognizing that God equips each of us with spiritual gifts for the unity and service of the church, we embrace these gifts and their intended purpose: to edify the body of Christ. As the church mirrors Christ’s body, we believe in the power of collaboration, where every part plays its vital role in achieving harmony and fostering growth.

Our Mission

Guided by Jesus’ command in Matthew 28:19-20, our mission is: to make disciples. This isn’t a mere suggestion—it’s a divine mandate. We understand that a disciple is someone on a continuous learning journey, striving to emulate the character and conduct of Christ. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to:

  • Going: Reaching out and spreading the teachings of Christ to all corners of the world.

  • Baptizing: We immerse new believers into water as an external demonstration of an internal transformation, symbolizing the death of their old self and the birth of a new creation in Christ.

  • Teaching: Nurturing and educating our community to observe and embody the teachings of Jesus.

We believe that the absence of discipleship can hinder a church’s effectiveness. Hence, we make it our priority, ensuring that our congregation can draw from Christ’s authority.

What We Believe

1.    In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.

2.    In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

3.    That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of a Virgin Mary.  That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead.  That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.

4.    That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.

5.    That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.

6.    In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.

7.    Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.

8.    In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.

9.    In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost.

10.In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

11.Divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement.

12.In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.

13.In the premillennial second coming of Jesus.  First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air.  Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.

14.In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Our Vision

Our vision for Cornerstone is powered by the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in Acts 1:8. We envision a church that’s not just confined to its walls but reaches out, impacting lives both within and beyond our community. Our focus areas are:

  • Personal: Championing individual spiritual growth, guided by scriptures like 2 Timothy 3:14-17, ensuring every believer is well-equipped for good work.

  • Family: Building strong, Christ-centered families. We derive our principles from scriptures like Ephesians 5:15-28, Proverbs 22:6, and Deuteronomy 6:4-7, emphasizing the roles of spouses and the importance of nurturing children in the ways of the Lord.

  • Church Body: Fostering unity in diversity. Scriptures like Romans 12:4-5 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-14 remind us that while we may be many, we remain one body in Christ.

  • Community: Engaging actively with our community, ensuring we support the weak, shine our light brightly, and consistently exhibit the love and teachings of Christ.

Above all, our vision is centered on Jesus by building relationships through discipleship, training, and fellowship. Together, we aspire to create an environment where every believer grows, thrives, and impacts the world positively for God’s Kingdom.
